Job Summary:
The Revenue Cycle Specialist’s primary responsibilities include: Billing, denials and follow-up. This position reports directly to the Revenue Cycle Manager.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Review patient information to ensure accuracy before billing
Follow all regulations and guidelines set by CMS
Prepare, review and transmit claims on a weekly basis using billing software, including electronic and paper claims
Submit medical records to payers if necessary
Work payer rejections on a weekly basis
Follow up on unpaid claims within Care IV Revenue Cycle timeline and expectations
Contact payers regarding discrepancies in payments if necessary
Researching and appealing denied claims
Run billing, aging and collection reports per management request
Answer patient o insurance phone inquiries regarding claimsFile and maintain organized documentation of all billing and follow up
Other billing duties as assignedOther collections or related duties as assigned
Qualifications:
Education: High school diploma or equivalent. Experience: One year medical billing experience required, knowledge of insurance guidelines, knowledge of CPT and ICD-10 Coding References; and effective communication and problem/solving skills.
