Program Content: This will be a guided discussion among payers led by Jodiane Tritt, Executive Vice President for the Arkansas Hospital Association. Attendees will have the opportunity to hear payer representatives discuss current hot topics and legislative updates impacting Arkansas providers. Representatives from Medicaid, BCBS, and Novitas will be on-hand to discuss these topics and answer questions.

Caterpillar to Monarch, an ABCBS Panel

Program Content: The panel will discuss patient care transformation in a value-based payment environment and the approach of a payer with both providers, members and employers grounded by the Quintuple Aim and innovation. The discussion will parallel the transformation of the caterpillar to a Monarch butterfly analogy.

Arkansas Medicaid Update

Program Content: With the recent appointment of Ms. Kristi Putnam to the Secretary of the Arkansas Department of Human Services (DHS) and other new leadership with DHS, as well as, the expiration of the national health emergency (PHE), many changes are occurring with DHS that are expected to impact hospitals and Medicaid recipients. Ms. Janet Mann, Deputy Director of Health and State Medicaid, will provide an update on the direction of DHS, expected changes to Medicaid and impact to Arkansas hospitals.

Contract Negotiation - Leveraging Data for Managed Care & Payer Accountability

Program Content: This presentation will identify, discuss and analyze changes in the IPPS and OPPS regulatory policy along with strategies and various other healthcare hot topics. Payors have a more robust process for aggregating and analyzing data, whereas resource constraints do not permit this same sophistication to individual hospitals. By knowing how to leverage data sets on managed care plans, hospitals will be able to more effectively negotiate with payors and hold them accountable.

Denials Prevention: Strategies to Avoid Revenue Loss and Re-work Cost

Program Content: Preventable insurance denials can cost organizations 3% of their revenue or more, impacting hospitals’ financial sustainability and possibly patient care.
