Topic: Panel Discussion – The Crossroads of Utilization Management and Revenue Cycle

Program Content: This presentation will explore the intersection between utilization management and revenue cycle activities, and how effective coordination and communication can impact reimbursement. We will discuss how the workflows and activities performed by utilization review teams can have an impact on revenue cycle activities, denials and ultimately payment. We will explore ways to properly educate and equip the individuals who can have a direct impact on reimbursement well before a bill is dropped by the revenue cycle team and how they can work with the revenue cycle team to mitigate and fight payer denials.

Topic: A Comprehensive Guide to Avoiding Denials, Increasing Reimbursement, and Managing Patient Throughput and Length of Stay

Program Content: The presentation will review recent trends and challenges across the industry, and how hospitals can navigate these challenges and improve margins through enhanced practices and management in the areas of: utilization management, status assignment, denials prevention, physician advisor practices, medical necessity documentation, length of stay, and patient throughput

Program Content: This presentation will explore the imperative to view mental health and physical health as a seamless continuum. It will consider the historical discounting of mental health disorders by traditional medicine and society as a whole. It will review more modern thinking regarding the interplay between brain and body, focusing on various behavioral health disorders and finally help the audience understand the financial impact of mental health disorders on the total cost of care.

Topic: Medicaid and Budget Bill Updates

Program Content: This presentation will provide a summary overview of Medicaid over the next year including discussion on rules, policy, and spending. It will also review additional impacts from the passage of the federal budget bill known as the One Big Beautiful Bill Act.
