Job Description:
This is a corporate level, full time leader position dedicated to acting as a lead in the Accounting Department by assisting/training others when needed and assisting with day-to-day processes along with the Controller. This position is dedicated to identifying process improvements in the financial system of the Corporate Baptist Health System and overseeing the implementation of those improvements as to provide for best practice methods and designs. This is to be done in a manner that provides for a reasonably high level of internal controls while also maximizing efficiency. This position will be requires strong problem solving abilities for all financial processes and procedures and an advanced understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles in order to implement new accounting standards with minimal oversight. This position requires ability to perform technical accounting research on a variety of accounting and business concepts for multiple industries, primarily in healthcare. Coordinate and/or prepare the monthly financial statements and key metrics/graphs for the system and prepare quarterly and annually bank reporting requirements such as consolidated financials and bond covenant requirements. Assists with review of monthly and quarterly financials, journal entries and balance sheet recons. A high level of communication, leadership and technology/computer skills is required as well as the ability to work independently with minimal oversight and in teams with non-financial personnel as well as others in the department. Also, assists the Controller with coordination of various external audits, including financial statement, IRS, Medicare/Medicaid and employee benefits audits and in performing various special projects as assigned by Controller or other Management. This position requires the ability to multi-tasks by managing various projects simultaneously.

Qualifications:
Bachelor degree in Accounting or related studies required. Masters in Accounting/Finance/Business Administration highly preferred and CPA preferred. Generally requires 3 years of public accounting or 5 years of non-public accounting; however, relevance of experience and education/certification are taking into consideration. Experience in health care highly preferred. Advanced knowledge of Excel required. Strong leadership skills, effective communication skills and ability to multi-task and work independently with minimal oversight and in teams is required.
